So, after all the fuss, all the shopping, all the preparation, the big day has come and gone - just like that! It amazes me every year, why is it that we go to such sever lengths during the holidays to get what we need (want) when this day is just, "poof," over just like that!!!!
I don't know, I think it's all a bit excessive, if you ask me, but I do admit, I'm certainly not immune to the festive disease that takes over during this time of year, that causes us to all go mad while we shop, shop, cook and shop!!!! Well, my question is this: After all the frenzy, how many of your gifts are you actually satisfied with; And what will you be returning this year?
Personally, I was entirely smitten with all of my holiday presents this year. I usually am; my family are very good shoppers (thank God) and they always manage to get just the right little treasures to hide under the Christmas tree (or the coffee table in my own room, for that matter!!!)
My parents have adopted a rather smart way of dividing up the gift giving process for my brother and I. We have a special $$$ limit each year, and so we make a list, my parents start shopping, and when we've reached our limit, we're done! Not bad, right?
I think it's a great way to rid us all of the greed that can sometimes take over as we imagine all the lavish treats we will be showered with in praise on Christmas day!
